Bring an Intern to Work
Annually, the University of Florida and our local colleges recruit and educate intelligent, talented, motivated, and ambitious students to their campuses. In many programs, the graduation requirements include the completion of an internship.
Students learn best in a structured and supportive environment that exposes them to the many dimensions found in the real world of work. To determine if an intern is right for your business, consider these questions:
- Do I have a project that stays on the back-burner due to lack of staff time?
- Is this project suitable for an upper division or graduate student?
- Would intern involvement enable personal and professional growth and development?
- Can I provide a dedicated preceptor for the intern?
- Am I able to develop the project’s activities as a short proposal?
Suwannee River AHEC has placed student interns in area businesses since the mid-1990s. We will work with you to develop a project proposal that is specific, individual, and attractive to prospective interns. We will also recruit your intern and you may be as involved as desired in this process.
If interested in having an intern join you or for more information, contact the special projects coordinator,
