Welcome to the Florida Department of Health, Immunization Program modular educational two-part series. Learning videos presented in part 1 are a collaboration of information from various experts in the field of immunizations. Learning videos presented in part 2 focus specifically on information provided by three of our panel experts.
Each video is individually approved for continuing education (1,2) and Continuing Medical Education for Physicians. Each learning module is approved for .5 credits with a total of 4.5 credits if a participant completes all video presentations in part 1 and part 2. Each participant must also successfully pass the required post-test/evaluations with a passing score of 80 percent or greater.
There is a link to each post-test/evaluation which is housed in the SurveyMonkey web-based survey system. Please note, we collect your personal information for CE/CME purposes only. Your information will not be used for third-party collection or advertisements. We will share this information for evaluative purposes and quality assurance with video sponsors and organizers.

This video presentation discusses the effects of childhood and adolescent vaccine-preventable diseases, identifies the recommended adolescent vaccinations and the latest CDC recommendations for whom to give the Tdap booster, identifies proper childhood and adolescent immunization dosing schedules, and reviews the latest HPV vaccine recommendations and coverage levels.

Module 4—CDC Spotlight: Dr. Kroger Speaks on Vaccine Science and Safety Net
Dr. Kroger, CDC Medical Officer, defines herd immunity and the immunization levels necessary to provide herd immunity, reveals details of disease outbreaks in the U.S. and why it is necessary to continue to vaccinate against disease, highlights the latest CDC recommendations regarding the Tdap booster, explains the U.S. vaccination process, and identifies safeguards that have been put in place in the U.S. to ensure vaccine safety.
Module 5— CDC Spotlight: Dr. Kroger Speaks on Vaccine Recommendations Across the Lifespan
Dr. Kroger, CDC Medical Officer, identifies the proper childhood and adolescent immunization dosing schedules, discusses recommended adolescent vaccinations, reviews the reasons for the CDC’s HPV age recommendations, describes the public health and patient benefits of participating in a statewide immunization registry, and teaches the patient eligibility requirements and benefits of the Vaccines for Children program.
